GroupMail Email Newsletter Software FAQs
Here are some questions about our GroupMail email newsletter software that we get asked enough to warrant inclusion on an FAQ page.
1. Are the prices listed on the GroupMail website a one-time cost or an annual cost?
GroupMail email newsletter software is a one-time purchase for a software license. There are no monthly or per-email costs involved. You can use it as long as you like to send as many messages as you want.
2. Is there a discount if I upgrade from one GroupMail edition to another?
Yes, you can upgrade from one edition to another at any time and just pay the difference in price.
3. What can I do if my ISP limits me to 200 emails each day?
If your ISP or web host limits the amount of messages you can send each day, there are some options. Read Email Sending Limits and Options for more information.
4. Can I import contacts from an Excel spreadsheet into GroupMail?
Yes, you can import contacts from Excel and practically any other data source. With the Personal Edition, you will need to first save your Excel spreadsheet as a comma separated file (.csv) and then import that file. With the Business Edition, you can import directly to Excel and other databases and even link to external databases such as Excel, Access, SQL, MySQL, ACT! and more.
5. What are the main differences between the Personal and the Business Editions?
The GroupMail Business Edition is designed for higher volume sending normally associated with business users. The Business Edition can send almost 100 times faster than the Personal Edition by allowing up to 256 simultaneous connections. It also allows users to link to external databases, schedule messages to send later and integrate with MS Outlook. Here is a list of the top 5 reasons customers upgrade to the Business Edition.
6. I am getting a lot of failures when I send a message. Why?
There are so many reasons why a message might fail. It could have something to do with the mail server settings that you have configured or an issue with the recipient email address. The best thing to do is to look at the General Status Log for the sent item. This log provides descriptions of all sending errors. If it doesn’t make sense to you, send it on to us and we’ll take a look at it for you.
7. Can I install GroupMail on more than one computer?
Yes, you can install your license on up to three computers; as long as the same license isn’t used simultaneously on more than one computer (concurrent use license.) Many of our customers install a copy of their GroupMail software on their office computer, home PC and laptop.
8. What are simultaneous delivery connections?
The more delivery connections you have open, the faster GroupMail will process messages from your computer to your mail server. Think of them as bridges over which your messages travel from your system to your mail server. With the Business Edition, you can open up to 256 simultaneous delivery connections (or bridges). That’s fast!
9. How do I add an unsubscribe link to my email?
