Solution for Code 2: Error Connecting with Server. If you have a firewall enabled please make sure that port 25 is open. If you have an Anti-Virus program running please make sure that it is configured NOT to check OUT BOUND email.

This error usually occurs after a number of emails have already been sent without any problem or at some point when you are sending email to your list.

It is generally related to a limitation set by the SMTP mail server that you are using to relay your emails.

That mail server limitation might be related to:

1. How fast you are sending messages from GroupMail to your mail server. To check this, please go to Tools/Account Manager, select the Account you are sending from and press Modify. Then go to the Delivery Options Tab. Reduce the Delivery Connections to 1 and set pauses to occur after every 5 messages for 5 seconds.

If modifying your delivery connections and pauses resolves the Code 2 error, then the problem was that you were sending too fast for your mail server to keep up. You can gradually increase your delivery connections and decrease your pauses to find the sweet spot for your particular SMTP mail server.

2. How many messages you are sending through your SMTP mail server each hour. Confirm the hourly email sending limits with the host of the SMTP mail server you are using.

3. How many messages you are sending through your SMTP mail server each day. Confirm the daily email sending limits with the host of the mail server you are using.

If your current mail server does not support your email list size or sending frequency, there are some options, such as using a secondary SMTP mail server for your large group email campaigns. For more information, read Email Send Limits and Options.

If you continue to have problems after implementing these solutions, contact the GroupMail support team. They will be happy to help you to fix it.
