Create a newsletter – if you need to create a newsletter and are unsure where to start, this short article explains briefly what you need.
Wikipedia describes a newsletter as “a regularly distributed publication generally about one main topic that is of interest to its subscribers”. Email newsletters are a great way to engage with your audience.
Create a Newsletter | What you need to get started?
1. Audience
First thing you need is a mailing list or audience. Building this list takes time, as current legislation requires that e-mail is sent only to recipients who request to receive it from the sender. Website sign-ups, incentives, promotions and partnerships are great ways to create and build your list.
2. Content/Message
Try to make your newsletter informative and relevant for your audience. Find out what your audience is interested in and provide them with specific information around this topic(s). It is also important to make it clear who the mail is being sent from and put some thought into your subject lines – this will make it more likely your message is opened and read.
3. Design
Try and to keep your design consistent from mail to mail so that the reader knows instantly that the email is from you. A nicely designed template can help ensure your message is clear and concise. Good design and clarity in your message is important for your message to be read. Themeforest offer a great range of email newsletter templates to get you started at very little cost.
4. Software
You’ve got your list and created this amazing email, now you need some way of sending it. There’s plenty of choice, including our own very own newsletter software GroupMail, which is just awesome (we’re a tiny bit biased of course).
