Can I Schedule a Backup to run in GroupMail ?
Yes! you certainly can…
In GroupMail select Scheduler along the top of your screen.
Click on ‘Schedule New Event’.
Select ‘Schedule a Backup” and press Next.
Here you need to select the items you wish to Backup. Press Next once you have made your selection.
By pressing the “Select” Button, you can browse to the location where you want to store your GroupMail Backup Files. This can be a Local Folder on your machine, a Network Folder or External Drive perhaps. Once you have made your selection, press Next.
The GroupMail backup events run in the background via the GroupMail Scheduler, so it is highly recommended that you enter an email address in both the
‘Success Notification’ and
‘Failure Notification’ Fields.
Should there be any problems with your backup, you will receive an email notification. Likewise when your backup is created successfully you will also receive a notification of this to the specified address. Press Next.
You now need to select the Time and Date you would like the Backup to run.
You can also set this process to Repeat at regular intervals for example, every Hour, Day, Week etc.. The minimum interval is every 15 Minutes.
You can decide the Interval depending on your GroupMail usage.
Click Ok.
Your Scheduled Backup is now listed under the GroupMail Scheduler.
Along the left side of the screen you can ‘Modify Schedule’ or ‘Delete’ this Schedule at any time.
Note: Scheduling is only available in the GroupMail Business Edition. However, you can still create a Backup using the GroupMail Personal Edition or if you prefer Upgrade to the GroupMail Business Edition.
That’s all there is to it! so there’s no excuses now for not having regular Backups
As always, if you need any help along the way, don’t hesitate to contact the GroupMail Support Team.
