First: I would recommend that you install updates for your software and applications, to ensure that you are running the most current version of GroupMail and other applications. This will ensure that the software or applications you are using are fully compatible with the Operating System that you are running.

For example, we released version 5.2.0.080 of GroupMail on the heels of the Windows 7 release, because of changes that Microsoft made to the new Windows 7 OS that required some adjustments to our software.

So, if you update your Windows Operating system (from XP to Windows 7 for example,) it is a good idea to update the programs and applications that you have installed as well.

You can download the latest version of GroupMail by logging in to the GroupMail Customers Area.

Second: If you continue to have Windows 7 or Vista Appcrash or StackHash errors, even after installing updates to your software, then there is a StackHash or Appcrash fix for Windows 7 and Vista that you can try.

Here is a Windows 7 and Vista StackHash and Appcrash Fix

1. Click on the Start menu and then go to the Control Panel

2. Click on System Maintenance and then System

3. Choose Advanced System Settings.

4. Under System Properties, select Settings from the Performance section at the top.

5. Click on the Data Execution Prevention tab.

6. Select “Turn on DEP for all programs and services except those I select”.

7. Find the executable file for the application that triggered the error. In Windows 7 and Vista, you can locate your GroupMail executable files (i.e. GMMailer.exe and GMEdit.exe) in C:\Program Files\GroupMail 5.

8. Select the application causing the error and click Open to add it to your DEP Exceptions list.

9. Click OK to save your new settings.
